Doug Morgan

Master tax pro and franchise owner

Based in New Minas, Nova Scotia, Doug Morgan brings more than 30 years of experience in accounting and tax preparation to the team. He joined H&R Block in 1992 as a tax professional and bought his first franchise in 1995. He now has 14 locations in Nova Scotia that prepare more than 24,000 tax returns a year.

Prior to joining H&R Block, Doug worked for 10 years as an accountant in a variety of industries and firms including Grant Thornton. He has provided software training and is a Certified Consultant for Simply Accounting.

As a member of the Franchise Leadership Council for the past nine years, Doug has provided his input and advice to help H&R Block franchisees across the country. He also instructs Tax Training School courses, conducts presentations to groups across Nova Scotia and participates in seminars such as the Home Renovation Tax Credit workshop at Home Depot.

He has also contributed tax tips to Canadian Living Magazine and been featured in radio interviews across the province.

Doug lives in New Minas with his wife of 27 years. They have a daughter (24) and son (21).
